10.7.13, last day at Berchtesgaden

Places visited: Hintersee, Zauberwald, Kehlsteinhaus.
Highlights:
1. The Zauberwald. So beautiful. Along the trek there are some replicated oil paintings showing the artists’ works of this beautiful place. The water in particular was so amazing. Clear, cool, colorful. This should be the most beautiful stream I have ever seen.
2. An old couple gave me a little pig toy after I asked them to takes picture for me. It was a surprise, and that made my entire day very fresh.
3. The highlight of the highlight: the eagle’s eye. It used to be a private guest room of Hitler, and it is at the top of a mountain near the königssee. I had great difficulty going to this place!!! First a twenty minute bus ride. Then another special bus ride for 15 minutes. Then take the elevator, and finally reached the house. But I am rewarded. The scenery was great. At the top of this mountain one can imagine 60 years ago or so when the evil German commander standing here, receiving and sending orders, changing the fate of the world in this scenic and difficult-to-reach place.
